skin peel treatments

Our Skin Peel treatments allow us to remove all the dead skin cells laying on the surface of the skin on your face and we offer a variety of different types of peel, catering for the needs of your skin; we offer Enzyme, Lactic, Salicylic and glycolic peels.

The difference between the different types of peel we offer is the depths that they can each work down to with regards to intensity. Your skin type will also determine what type of peel is best suited for you; for example, if you have very sensitive skin, you would likely be suited to either a Lactic or Enzyme peel. However, if you have very tough skin with several lines and wrinkles, you would perhaps be best suited to one of our Glycolic peels.

This is something that will be discussed with you in great detail during your consultation with our technician. It is at this point you should make them aware of any skin conditions you may have such as cold sores, eczema, etc… It is also at this stage that our technician will address anything they can identify from looking at your skin. This may be that they notice mild redness, indicating that your skin may be more on the sensitive side.

how does skin peeling work?

When applied to the skin, these Skin Peels interact with proteins causing exfoliation and peeling of the skin. Different types of skin peel cause peeling at different depths as discussed above; this allows us to perform superficial, medium and deep peels.

Chemical peels can be used to improve acne, pigmentation, freckling, wrinkles, skin tone and texture.

The time interval between skin peels can vary depending on both your skin and the intensity of the peel used. This is something that your technician will advise both before and after your treatment. If any sensitivity is still present as a result of an initial skin peel, no subsequent peel will be carried until the skin has completely healed.

Aftercare advise will be given in great detail and failure to follow this may result in skin damage, pigmentation and scarring.

It is important to understand that not all Skin Peels create a result that allows you to visually see the skin lift away from the face. The majority of the dead skin is removed during the course of the treatment, however this will depend entirely on the type of peel used. It is unlikely that you will require any downtime following a Skin Peel treatment; the likelihood is that your face may look slightly red for the next few hours. For those with more sensitive skin, this may extend to 1-2 days.
